Donation of Unsold Goods Benefits Charleston Families
Every registered consignor with Charleston Repeats must decide whether or not to donate or pick-up each of his or her items brought to the sale. Some consignors choose to pick up everything they bring while others decide they want to donate every item they bring. There are some who fall in the middle--donating some items while picking up others on the pick-up day. Charleston Repeats is proud to be working with the following Charleston charities who will ensure that all donated items go to families who will truly benefit from all the items: Florence Crittenton Home, Lowcountry Pregnancy Center, Lowcountry Orphan Relief, and the Junior League of Charleston.
Florence Crittenton Home~
Florence Crittenton has provided shelter and support for single mothers in South Carolina since 1897. The majority of young women seeking the services of Florence Crittenton are keeping their children, often without adequate social or monetary resources. Florence Crittenton strives to provide the highest quality and comprehensive medical, educational and social services to train their young women to be self-sufficient.
Lowcountry Pregnancy Center~
The Lowcountry Pregnancy Center is a non-profit ministry offering life-affirming alternatives to abortion and compassionate Christian counsel to those who face pregnancy related issues.
Lowcountry Orphan Relief~
Lowcountry Orphan Relief, Inc. (LOR) is a non-profit organization that provides services to children where social and government services leave off. Working directly with other non-profits and government agencies to identify the individual needs of these neglected children, LOR intervenes at critical junctures with products and services such as: providing clothes, toiletries, and school supplies for the immediate needs of children entering the system and creating libraries and recreation rooms at emergency children's shelters.
Junior League of Charleston~
The Junior League of Charleston, Inc., is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of volunteers. It is one of nearly 300 Leagues worldwide dedicated to these purposes. Since 1923, the Charleston League has served our community by developing collaborative programs with other community agencies and serving as a catalyst for positive change in areas ranging from education to child abuse to feeding the homeless. This year, the League will invest more than 15,000 hours in volunteer community service work and more than $100,000 through support of its community projects.
